Hazardous Weather Outlook. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North Carolina. east Tennessee and southwest Virginia. Day one. Today and Tonight. Showers and thunderstorms tonight may have the potential to produce locally heavy rainfall, particularly across Southeast Tennessee and Southwest North Carolina. Since river levels are low and the ground is still fairly dry, widespread flooding is not expected, but there could be some localized flooding problems in low lying or flood prone spots. Days two through seven. Friday through Wednesday. Periods of showers and thunderstorms will continue through Tuesday producing locally heavy rainfall. The most concentrated periods for steadier rainfall will be Friday morning and Saturday, with more scattered coverage outside of these periods. Localized flash flooding and flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas will begin this weekend and continue off and on through Tuesday. The greatest threat area for flooding will be from southeast Tennessee through southwest North Carolina. Spotter information statement. Spotter activation may be needed for flooding this weekend.
