Cannabis use is as old as civilization itself. The public's relationship with weed has shifted over time up and down with the health of the societies institutions. Poor or overbearing governance usually leads to higher social anxiety. Is it possible this is also the trend we see with weed?

I did make one little error in the episode. I said WWII started in 1936. It was actually 1939. When you get to that part of the episode just try to put yourself in the shoes of the people of the time. It's pretty easy actually, with the clouds of a world war gathering over our heads as well.
