In previous episodes, we’ve talked about how overall mental health encompasses ongoing wellness and happiness relating to emotional, psychological and social well being. In short, it’s all about the mind, body and spirit and keeping these three in balance with each other. Today, we’re going to dive into this concept a bit more as it relates to real world experiences. Rob is here with us today and he’s going to share some of his life events and how he was able to incorporate aspects of mind, body, spirit wellness to improve his overall being, situation and to help him work through the trauma of the life happenings.

Sit and listen to worship music and just let the music surround and wash over me
Just sit quietly in His presence
No need to strive or problem solve - just be
In this place, I was unconditionally loved and “good enough”
Scripture reading and daily devotion
Writing my prayer requests
Praying with friends
Weekly church service
Mind
Journaling
Writing down all I was going through put distance between me and what was happening
Got everything out of my head so my mind wasn’t constantly and endlessly swirling it around
Personal development books (physical/audio)
Encouraging YouTube videos, audio lectures
Daily check ins with my 3 “ride or die” friends
What was going well/what wasn’t
Could be honest when I felt like I’d taken 3 steps backwards
