Matthew 5:13-16, Salt and Light. "You are the salt of the earth....You are the light of the world." Today we discuss personal evangelism, the primary task every disciple of Jesus has been given. Only disciples can make disciples and the Sermon on the Mount was intended for Christ’s disciples. Like those pulled to safety from a raging sea, we are compelled to reach back for others still struggling in the deadly water. In fact, we are commissioned to share what Jesus has done for us with a lost and dying world. We will examine what he taught to uncover what the apostle Peter reiterated when he said, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. . . .” (1 Peter 3:16 | NIV)
