Description

Thursday of the Third Week of Lent

March 28, 2019

Daily Reading from the USCCB: Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9

Today’s psalm–Psalm 95–is the psalm which daily opens the Church’s Liturgy of the Hours. It is intended to set the tone for the daily prayer of the people of God. Here, in the context of the season of Lent and the Eucharistic liturgy, Psalm 95 is intended to remind us of the spirit in which we are to stand before the Lord in prayer.

The Lord’s voice addressed to us is a gift–a gift to be received with joyfulness, thanksgiving, reverence, obedience. It indicates to us the path we are to follow as members of God’s flock. Every day we are to listen for His voice and sing joyfully to Him.

Is singing joyfully to the Lord part of my every day?
