Snow forecasts evaporate in Colorado, though some predict light accumulations next week

While meteorologists thought a system moving through Colorado this weekend might bring snowfall with it, new forecasts are only calling for cold temperatures starting Saturday.
Though National Weather Service forecasts on Wednesday called for light accumulations Saturday night in Summit County, predictions released Thursday only call for temperatures to drop from highs in the 50s on Friday to highs near 40 through the weekend.
There’s a slight chance for snow starting Monday, according to the National Weather Service, but OpenSnow founding meteorologist Joel Gratz said Thursday that the next chance for won’t arrive until next week.
“On Monday, a strong storm will bring snow to eastern New Mexico and the midwest, but the track of the storm will be a little too far to the east to bring significant snow to Colorado,” he wrote. “Bummer! Then, on Tuesday, a storm from the northwest will move toward Colorado. The track of the storm is still uncertain.”
