Yet again this podcast has a firm misunderstanding of true federalism. Also Calhoun was pro union, he never "laid the groundwork for secession". At Ft. Sumter the union repeatedly kept resupplying the fort, which was seen as a sign of aggression by the seceded SC and even Lincolns cabinet told him to stop resupplying. The shelling was clearly meant for the union forces to vacate not start a civil war. the civil war actually began when Lincoln illegally sent troops to invade the south
