Hello Creatives,

The leaves are turning orange, the air grows crisp, and our yearly Halloween episode approaches! But first, we dive back into the atmospheric world of Sheridan Le Fanu's gothic masterpiece with Chapter 3 of Carmilla.

Following a mysterious carriage accident, a beautiful young lady has been left in the care of our narrator's family at their remote castle. 
Her mother, draped in black velvet, has departed on a journey of "vital importance" that she emphasises must remain "secret," promising to return for her daughter in three months. 
The household remains curious about their unusual guests, particularly noting the strange servants and a mysterious black woman with "gleaming eyes" who remained in the carriage.

When our narrator finally meets their guest face-to-face, both young women experience a profound shock of recognition. 
Twelve years earlier, they had seen each other in dreams or visions as children—an impossible connection that instantly creates a bond between them. 
Yet our narrator admits to feeling both powerfully drawn to and slightly repelled by her beautiful new companion. 
As they exchange stories of their shared vision, the supernatural element strengthens its grip on the narrative, setting the stage for the unsettling relationship that will unfold.

Join us as we continue this classic tale of Gothic horror, perfect for the approaching Halloween season.
