People are a lot like cats in the sense that we often live more than one life. Mary K. Savarese has lived at least three lives. She started out in accounting/finance (Life #1). She became a mom and raised her kids (Life #2). Now, she is a successful author (Life #3). She has two books under her belt so far. Her debut was a murder mystery, Tigers Love Bubble Baths & Obsession Perfume (who knew!).  Her latest novel is the first in a trilogy, The Girl in the Toile Wallpaper (and it is Toile, not toilet).

Being a traditionally published author did not happen overnight. It was 10 years in the making. We talk about how even overnight successes aren’t really overnight. Overcoming rejection and perseverance is critical. Even when you think you have arrived, you still have to persevere.
