Description
Episode 51 is here!
This week: Peter Rios of the Comic Geek Speak podcast at http://www.comicgeekspeak.com/
Pre-interview Happy Things:
Summer peaches and doughnuts from Chicago, I found one of my twins, Dresden Files is out on DVD, and The Happiness Myth (now on my Amazon A-Store page with the rest of the Books and Viewables). Link in the right-sidebar and at the end of this post.
-Childfree/deciding professional theatre actor (with Acting Happy Stuff)
-Podcaster and comics fan- Watchmen vs Shakespeare! - Adult Space/Child Space discussion -Alan Moore’s controversial latest work - Middle ground between
Comic Happy Things- Alan Moore, DC’s New Frontier, Darwin Cook and the Spirit, Jeff Smith’s Shazam Monster Society, MouseGarde by Peterson (Archaea Press-all these spellings are probably off BTW and I can’t find it on our shelf), the manga “Monster” by Naoki Urasawa, Superman for All Seasons, 300 by Frank Miller, Star Wars/Trek/Serenity/Buffy trades, Surrogate (Top Shelf Comics), Hero Squared, Fables (Vertigo), Blankets (Top Shelf), Adventures of Cavalier and Clay… ohhhhh my poor budget.
The raw recording of this chat was 2 1/2 hours long, so I edited with a heavy hand for length. Consider any awkwardness my bad. Still, Peter was really great to talk with after listening to him and his friends for so long. They fill my list of to-reads with good suggestions, and CGS gives me that nostalgic feel of laying around the dorm room square-o-carpet-remnant and reading the fruits of the Friday Comics Run.
Next episode- the big 52! Yes, one podo-year! It’s not too late to leave a comment, call, or email for the all-your-content special episode!
