Description

Hello, and welcome to another episode of The Wilderness Mind.

A podcast about all things nature, well-being and being human.

Bought to you by JK (Jennie-Kate) McQuinn of Where the Mind Grows Coaching/Facilitator

This week, Host JK is join by guest Jon Conradi of Wild Mosaic.

Jon left his career in business education to explore how he could understand and be part of the impact (in the space of sustainability and biodiversity).

After a few ideas, Jon was encouraged by friends to follow his vision for Nature Connection - with a focus - not just on biodiversity- but people’s part in this connection story too.

Asking the important questions like:

“How can I create value, in a radical way, connecting people to place”

So, Wild Mosaic came to life!

This episode is a deep, vibrant and meandering conversation around wildness and connecting with Nature- shared through Jon’s personal reflections and his experience of setting up & growing Wild Mosaic.

I invited some ‘big’ questions into this space and Jon embraced them wholeheartedly - leaving this conversation as real and as wild, as a square at the Wild Mosaic site.

The discussion was a rich soil, but here are a few highlighted topics!

  • Changing career course into the field of biodiversity.

  • Is Nature too big? The importance of language in our reconnection stories.

  • The joy of bringing life back to Nature and the value of looking closely to notice the small things- as well as the bigger picture.

  • The pain and despair of rewilding and learning our own way in the wild.

  • Chicken or Egg? What comes first, rewilding ourselves, or Nature?

  • My (JK's) accidental procrastination with the ‘what three words’ grid reference, and the big question of which square should I choose?

  • The biggest lesson from Nature.

"How do we become bigger?  As in,  more conscious that we don’t stop with our skin and we don’t stop with our cities! How do we broaden how we understand ourselves, rather than how do we separate ourselves from”
