We have heard requirements like we need ten trillion miles of data, billions of situations that we have to cover before deploying autonomous vehicles in the street. We are gonna need an enormous amount of testing.

Besides that, we want to test the corner cases, edge cases and that's not ethical to try out with the human driver, and we are also risking the entire environment.

In terms of edge cases, it is not even possible to replicate that without putting people's lives in danger.

So the only way we can handle those is by simulating.
