The most significant of the 7 separations that tested the faith of our father Abraham was God’s commandment to sacrifice his only son. Sad to say, many in the modern American church have never considered how this account prefigured God’s sacrifice of His only Son 2,000 years later!

“This is the only type in the Old Testament where God requires a human sacrifice; where God reveals the necessity for a human victim to atone for sin; for as it was that man had sinned, it must be by man, not the sacrifice of beasts, that Divine justice would be satisfied.”
