The #MeToo movement brought to the forefront many thunderous voices that had been silent for far too long. Voices of victims who endured sexual assault at the hands of strangers, relatives, friends, and people who abused their position of power (ahem, Harvey Weinstein). It became a way for those who felt powerless to gain their power back, and to hold those accountable for their wrongdoings. But with anything that brings light, there is always a shadow that is cast.
