The I in Innovation - The art of never giving up - With Jonas Deichmann - Adventurer, ultra-performance cyclist and motivational speaker
Description
I cannot be prouder and more blessed to kick off my podcast "The I in Innovation" with a person who embodies everything this show stands for.
Jonas Deichmann from Stuttgart, Germany, is a 3 times world-record holder in extreme endurance cycling. He just finished the "Cape to Cape" challenge, a 18.000km bike race from the North Cape in Norway to Cape Town in South Africa. Along the way he suffered under several food poisonings, no rest days and sitting up to 11 hours in the saddle each day. In the previous years he won the world records for the Eurasia Challenge and Panamerica Solo. I asked Jonas about his early childhood environment, his desire to explore the world and live his dream. His philosophy of "never giving up" is deeply embedded in his mindset. Once he is at the starting line, there's no way back.
We learn a lot about decision making under extreme uncertainty, following your passion, committing to your goals, breaking down goals into smaller pieces, self reward systems, future pacing and growing from tough times.
I had such an amazing time talking to Jonas and I hope you will enjoy this conversation as much as I did. And I hope you will be able to transfer many of Jonas' tools and techniques to your everyday life.
Please, I’m a huge fan of your feedback. That’s the only way that I can keep on innovating that show and ensure to deliver valuable content to you. So don’t hesitate to comment on this episode. What did you really like and want to hear more of in the future. What did you not like at all. And what do you wish to hear more of?
