Description

In order to achieve a beautiful, healthy outcome, it is imperative to follow all of Dr. Soto's pre-operative and post-operative instructions. Dr. Soto recommends all of his patients stop smoking prior to any plastic surgery procedure.
Failure to follow these instructions can lead to complications such as infection, poor scarring, the formation of hard scar tissue also known as capsular contracture and wound healing problems, just to name a few.
Dr. Soto recommends his patients stop smoking 3 weeks before and 3 weeks after their elective surgical procedure. Also, avoiding second hand smoke during these periods is very important.
If for any reason, you smoked during the 3 weeks leading up to your surgery it is very important to inform Dr. Soto.

If you have any further questions about smoking before your surgery, call our office and speak to a Nurse today. 407.218.4550.
