Description

There is much discussion and even confusion surrounding the Hebrew name of God. Most people have heard the name Yahweh. This name is recognized by the majority of Jewish and Christian scholars as God’s personal name revealed in Scripture. Yet, some groups claim alternate forms—YehovahYahvehYahuah, and others. While these debates often focuses on pronunciation, in this episode we turn our attention to something far more important: the meaning of the Name itself.

Additionally, we will explore how, during the Second Temple period, Judaism stopped speaking this sacred Name aloud. Out of deep reverence and fear of misusing it, only the High Priest was permitted to pronounce it on the Day of Atonement. Others risked punishment if they used it carelessly or in blasphemy.

Join us as we move beyond the question of how to say God’s Name and instead focus on what it reveals about His nature. Discover why this divine self-revelation—Yahweh, the One who is, who was, and who will be—continues to speak to every generation.
