Description

With Theranos technology now being used by real customers, many employees are at a breaking point. They are horrified by what they believe to be widespread deception and dangerous practices, but Theranos has implemented increasingly extreme measures to stop them from speaking out. As the threat of litigation lingers, one brave and unlikely whistleblower, with close ties to Elizabeth Holmes and the board of directors, emerges.

Good podcast overall, but I think it’s a major miss that they never go into whether having blood tests based on a single drop of blood is even possible. An interview with a few biologists or medical professionals would have done that. Big omission, given that the whole premise of Theranos and the device is based on that.

I love the idea of George Schultz's hubris being identified by his grandson Tyler. Just shows how eager people were to believe the chimera, the cloud. The smoke and the mirrors. I'm thrilled that Rupert lost so much. I guess though that that signals an increase in his over-priced Foxtel. Well told. Brilliant interface with Elizabeth's voice saying 'I don't know'.

What's startling about this podcast is the exposure of possible lives put in serious danger where health care testing was used as the tool to gain trust....for financial gain. Thank you for your work.
