Stekkjarstaur kom fyrstur,

stinnur eins og tré.

Hann laumaðist í fjárhúsin

og lék á bóndans fé.

Hann vildi sjúga ærnar,-

þá var þeim ekki um sel,

því greyið hafði staurfætur,

- það gekk nú ekki vel.
