The flawed definition of Genocide
Description
Several prominent human rights organisations, including Amnesty International, the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, Human Rights Watch, and Médecins Sans Frontières, have independently concluded that Israel's actions in Gaza constitute serious international crimes. Lester Kiewit speaks to Dirk Moses, the Spitzer professor of international relations at the City College of New York, and asks whether the current definition of genocide is adequate to address situations like the ongoing war in Gaza, given the argument that the international community deliberately designed the definition of genocide to protect states and make it difficult to apply in armed conflict.
