Today’s Knoxville Tennessee weather forcast, reported at 5:17 AM on Thursday, the 20th of June. Overnight, scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Then later, Thursday, showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 8am and 9am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 9am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Thursday Night, a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Then, Friday, mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Sunrise today will be at 6:19 am and the sun will set at 8:55 pm.

Hazardous Weather Outlook. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North Carolina. east Tennessee and southwest Virginia. Day one. Today and Tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will occur over much of the forecast area once again today. The strongest storms will likely occur during the morning hours, with a general downward trend in coverage and intensity expected during the afternoon hours. While widespread severe weather isn`t expected, a few strong to severe storms could occur. Damaging winds would be the main threat with these storms. Days two through seven. Friday through Wednesday. Round of Strong to Severe Storms Possible late Friday Night and Saturday. For late Friday and Friday night, an area of storms is expected to develop across the mid-west and then move southeast into east Tennessee valley and southern Appalachians by Saturday morning. Some of these storms could be strong to severe producing damaging winds, hail up to quarter size, and heavy rainfall. Localized flash flooding is possible. Spotter information statement. Spotter activation may be required this evening and possibly Saturday. Reports of flash flooding, storm damage, or heavy rainfall amounts will be appreciated this week.
