Sharon explains it does not excuse the abuser for creating the trauma in the relationship, but that the brokenness that comes from addiction helps to create a new paradigm in the relationship that can be the catalyst to break free from addiction as a whole.
Ms. Hersh received an M.A. from Colorado Christian University, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
