The United Way of the Coalfield is once again asking the community to help recognize those who make a difference every day.

Executive Director Ashley Alexander says that nominations are now being accepted for the Community Impact Awards in Caldwell, Hopkins, and Muhlenberg counties.

click to download audioTo nominate someone, simply email a short letter by December 1st, highlighting what sets your nominee apart and how they make a positive difference in the community.

click to download audioOne individual from each of the three counties will be chosen to receive the award. Last year, the United Way of the Coalfield Community Impact Award for Caldwell County was presented to Larry Curling.

Alexander says the nonprofit is increasing its work in the three counties.

click to download audioAccording to Alexander, they’re also launching a Community Impact Committee in Caldwell County, welcoming citizens, business leaders, and anyone interested to join discussions on how the United Way can best serve the community.

click to download audioShe also notes that the organization continues to offer grants and is actively visiting local agencies throughout all three counties.

Again, the deadline to submit your nomination for the Community Impact Awards is December 1st. Alexander says recipients from each of the three counties will be honored at the United Way of the Coalfield’s Annual Celebration in January, recognizing their service and dedication to building stronger, more compassionate communities throughout Western Kentucky.
