WHE 030: How To Create A Great Webinar Introduction That Captivates Your Audience
Update: 2018-05-01
Description
How should you structure your webinar or your Facebook live? Get ready to learn some of my tips and best practices and do it the right way!
In this episode you’ll learn:
- What the flow or structure of your webinar should be:
- Start with a title or a headline that will draw your audience in.
- Follow that with an introduction, and share a story that will get your audience to come with you on this journey that you’re going to take them when you go into your teaching points.
- After your teaching points is your summary or recap.
- And last but not least is your call to action.
- Why is the introduction so important? Your introduction lets your audience know why they need to stick around for the rest of the webinar. It’s so important because it’s actually going to build the case for both your webinar topic and your offer at the end.
- Tips on how to make your introduction:
- You want to create excitement in your introduction.
- Include a ‘Welcome’ segment where you say your hellos and break the ice before the actual webinar starts.
- Share the webinar topic. And if your title is result-oriented, it should be pretty easy to figure out what your audience is going to discover in the webinar.
- Why should you let your audience know who this webinar is for?
- Think of your webinar like a funnel. At the top are the people you attracted through your blog posts or social media posts and Facebook ads, and as you go through your webinar you should be able to weed out the people who don’t actually need it or the people who are not your ideal client.
- You can create a slide or two that say who this webinar is for and describe who your ideal client is.
- You can also add some engagement with your audience by asking, “Does this sound like you?” and calling out the names of those who respond.
- Why should you add a statistic? A statistic can wow your audience or elicit some type of response that will make them want to take action.
- How many teaching points should you include? Three would be enough. As a matter of fact, for Facebook Live, three teaching points would be fabulous, because people don’t really want to spend 45 minutes to an hour on a Facebook Live.
- What are some tips on making your teaching points? You want your teaching points to be action-oriented. Use buzz words and easy words and a step-by-step process.
- What is the current trend for webinars? The current trend is for webinars to be shorter. 30 minutes would be enough to convey everything that your audience needs to learn about that particular topic.
- Why should you be transparent about the offer you’re going to make at the end? It’s better to be upfront with your audience that you know some of them are going to want to dive deeper into what was taught in the webinar and that you’re going to share with them how they can do that.
