Like the plant, we are cautioned to always be deeply rooted in the word of God for the nourishment and sustaining water we need to survive in this life and get to the promised eternal life. We can be encouraged to know that all we need to persevere through life and even prevent some problems can be found in the word of God. We need simply apply it to our lives liberally.
