Hazardous Weather Outlook. This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. Day one. Today and Tonight. Scattered thunderstorms will first develop over the mountains and foothills by the noon hour, and then across portions of the plains during the afternoon and evening. The airmass has moistened somewhat, so stronger storms will be capable of producing a brief period of heavy rain with up to 1 inch of rain possible in 30 minutes. This could produce minor flooding in recent burn scars, and minor street flooding in urban areas. Stronger storms will also be capable of producing frequent lightning and small hail. Showers and storms will decrease this evening and come to an end in all but the far eastern plains by midnight. Days two through seven. Thursday through Tuesday. Thursday through Saturday will see a warming trend ahead of the next storm system to impact Colorado. Expect scattered afternoon and evening storm coverage Thursday, then more isolated coverage Friday and Saturday with southerly winds increasing across the plains. A strong cold front will push south across the area Saturday night, bringing gusty northerly winds up to 45 mph potentially. Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler for Sunday, with a slow warmup expected for Monday and Tuesday. Spotter information statement. Spotter activation is not anticipated today or tonight.
See you tomorrow!
