The area with the highest potential for strong to severe storms is expected to be south of I-40, mainly in the mid to late afternoon hours. Days two through seven. Thursday through Tuesday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday followed by greater coverage of rainfall Friday through Monday. Periods of heavy rainfall could occur with these showers and thunderstorms, especially this weekend, which could elevate the threat for localized flash flooding.
