You may have heard in the news recently about a number of pistachio recalls affecting several suppliers here in the Montreal area due to possible Salmonella contamination. And this isn’t just a local issue – similar recalls have been reported in other parts of Canada. To help us understand what’s going on and what it means for consumers, we’re joined by Dr. Jennifer Ronholm. She’s an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Agricultural Microbiology at McGill University, and she studies how bacteria interact with food and our microbiomes. She spoke to Ken Connors.
