In the mid-20th century those looking for love and companionship could join Lonely Hearts Clubs in hopes of finding someone they could match with. But sometimes those searching the lonely hearts catalogs weren't interested in love,
Raymond Fernandez and Martha Beck were two of those not in need of companionship, instead they wanted money and sometimes their scams ended in murder. Dubbed the Lonely Hearts Killers, these two scoured lonely hearts magazines in the late 1940's looking for victims.
