Saturday is National Whistleblower Day it’s the second year it’s been recognized. Perfect timing for our discussion on why so many Officers is leaving police work. We will talk about the problems and suggest some things politicians and police administrators can do to help build a better environment for Officers, particularly patrol officers since they are the officers people see the most. Police officers have had a tough time because of many high-profile incidents of officer misconduct and in custody deaths. The behavior of a relative few officers has brought public attention to the profession. Police unions continue to stay silent regarding incidents that impact the officer’s work environment in the department while continuing to protect bad officers.
