Wisdom on the Lack of Long Term Strategy in a Democratic Republic

Description
Just a bit of rambling of me realizing that this country will never be able to have a long-term strategy for anything. There was a time when we once did, but that was when the politicians were all practically of the same viewpoint and just subtly different. Now they are so divided and dissimilar in a competitive fashion that we can never have a strategy that isn’t canceled by the next party in power. Now due to this inability for long-term thinking, other countries who have a more centralized political structure will forever be able to strategize in a more beneficial way for their country and take advantage of our failures.
