EPISODE #39   "YES, BUT…"

In our metaphorical metaphysical guide to life that is Spontaneous Brilliance, we know that "Yes, and…" is a game of accepting and offering. It's a game that, when applied to the great stage of life, keeps us actively in the ping pong match of response-ability. We understand that the "and" is all important because that is where our offer lies. However, "Yes, and…" has a sister game: "Yes, but…" which is a game of accepting and blocking. Unfortunately in life, many of us unconsciously default to "Yes, but…" And in improv as in life, when we do, we are negating, contradicting, or devaluing the offer of the other player. In this episode, Sandra helps us see where our unconscious defaults come from and how we can consciously stop blocking ourselves and others.
