Description

Virginia (Ginny) McGowan PhD is an award-winning author, writer, editor, speaker, book whisperer, visionary, and solopreneur. As a practicing anthropologist with more than 40 years experience, she applies social science insights and methods to address real world problems. She’s now turned her sights on the alarming state of civility at work. The evidence is clear: A civility crisis has engulfed our workplaces, worsening in an era of unprecedented social, cultural, economic, and technological change. In response, Virginia attained certification as a Workplace Relational Skills Practitioner and is mounting a Civil@Work movement. She recently published Civil@Work: The Ultimate Guide to Mastering Soft Skills for Business Success (July 2025), to be followed by The Human Advantage: The Crucial Role of Soft Skills in AI-integrated Business and The Courage to Change Your Lane: Five Steps to Transformative Leadership in the Era of AI. Virginia lives, works, and plays on Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest (but best) province.
