Description

Many things were happening since we presented p≡p in September. There are the first four implementations coming now. But p≡p is more than just another crypto app. It's the experiment if the default for written communication can be changed from unencrypted to encrypted and fully anonymized. There is a plan behind that. So not only two companies were founded; additionally there is p≡p foundation. This entity is targeting to supply p≡p technology into any mail and messaging client on planet. And for all Free Software projects, this is totally free. If you have such a project, p≡p foundation will even support you putting it in! What does a developer get? p≡p is an adapter into your development environment, natively. There are already adapters done for Qt, for MailCore2, for K-9 Mail – and even a COM adapter for Windoze exists. More adapters will follow. If you need one for your technology, p≡p foundation will be happy to support your project with such an adapter. What does p≡p do? p≡p makes encryption the default, without any need of user interference. User presses “send”, and message goes out. But with p≡p installed, it goes out the most secure way it can be delivered – and the hardest way to intercept and eavesdrop on it. For an application developer there is not much to do for implementing p≡p. You can use the Message Loopback API, and put through all messages: throw it in, you'll get it back encrypted the right way. Or you're using the Message Send API. Then the message is being delivered immediately, and all of encryption, key management and transport security is done automagically. For changing the Internet, everything about p≡p is published as Free Software, and each technology is opened for being a standard anyone can implement easily.
