Poem portrays the last meeting between Mary Magdalene and The Jesus when he resurged on the third day.Mary was the only one who is said to have seen Him after resurrection. ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ട യേശുവിൻ്റെ ശരീരം അടക്കിയ കല്ലറയിൽ മൂന്നാം നാൾ ആദ്യമെത്തിയ മേരി മാഗ്ദലീൻ കല്ലിളകിമാറി ശൂന്യമായ അറ അമ്പരപ്പോടെ കണ്ടു. യേശുവിൻ്റെ ശിഷ്യരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വന്നു. അവർ തിരികെ പോയതിനു ശേഷം അവൾ ഏകയായി അവിടെത്തന്നെ നിന്നു. ഇതാണ് കവിതയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലം.
