Regenerative Champions:The Ohio State University

Regenerative Champions

Regenerative agriculture equips farmers to be responsible environmental and social stewards. While farmers of different operation sizes are embracing practices like cover cropping, no-till, and composting, broader public awareness is needed to scale adoption and influence community support. Though farming knowledge is often passed down through generations, the vital role regenerative farmers play in advancing food sovereignty is often overlooked. This project highlights the voices of Ohio-based regenerative farmers—exploring their motivations, challenges, and community-driven visions—to inspire action and reimagine a resilient, food-secure future. Sustainability Institute at the Ohio State University supported episode 1 through 12. The material featured from episode 13 is based upon work supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, under Regional Conservation Partnership Program Supplemental Agreement number 2794, “Financing Soil Organic Carbon Storage Performance in Ohio's Miami Valley,” in partnership with the one.two.five Benefit Corporation and dozens of farms and local organizations in southwest Ohio, including Glorified Dirt LLC and the Hall Hunger Initiative.
