Today we are excited to invite Arielle de Martinez on the show. Join us as we dive into an educational, insightful conversation about ditching mainstream shampoo, green washing and supporting your natural hair texture through the "No Poo Method."
We walk through:
-Healing your hair
-Questioning the ingredients in mainstream hair products
-Holistic hair care and greenwashing
-Scalp health and "non toxic" options
-Heat free style options
Arielle de Martinez helps women all over the world free themselves from the industries that benefit from women not claiming their own autonomy, from the beauty industry that breeds insecurities and toxicity, the stylist/client power dynamics in the salon industry, and the allopathic systems that don’t seem to actually know how to truly be (and stay) well.
With her guidance, women are actually healing their hair by using products they can make themselves at home with ingredients found in their garden that come straight from the earth and taking responsibility for the health of themselves and their family!
Her “No Poo Method” has developed a cult following of women ditching the shampoo for good, and her course “The Wild Mother’s Medicine Chest” has allowed women from all over the world to become the healers of their families.

Isaac Pohlman - Registered Dietitian and Fellow T1D
Isaac is a dietitian originally from a small rural town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is currently residing in Chicago.
During his formal education in undergrad and grad school, he studied human physiology and nutritional sciences and has since gone through a series of trainings, including internships to become a Registered Dietitian, mentorship programs under Josh Rubin and Morley Robbins, and independent research.
Despite his formal education, his personal experiences with health and working with clients 1:1 have been just as if not more valuable to his work. He was inspired to pursue nutrition after developing a series of health issues, including hypothyroidism, low testosterone, chronic fatigue, cystic acne, and type 1 diabetes, during his high school and early college days.
Isaac currently helps adults with type 1, type 2, and pre-diabetes improve their blood sugar control without cutting out carbs, in his coaching program, The Balanced Blood Sugar Roadmap.

Below is some information about our wonderful guest on today's episode, Jen Ray. You can connect with her on Instagram @healwithjen https://www.instagram.com/healwithjen/
I’m Jen Ray. For the past decade, I’ve been a student of the human body and have followed my passion for supporting people on their personal growth and healing journey. As a trauma survivor, I spent most of my life stuck in a state of survival. I lived disassociated from my body and spent my teenage years and early twenties struggling with things like substance abuse, toxic romantic relationships, and self-sabotaging behaviors. When I began my education on trauma, I finally felt like I made sense. I realized that my compulsive relationships and “self-sabotaging” patterns were self-protective behaviors that I developed to meet unmet needs and achieve safety. After several years of tending to the needs of my inner-child and healing in areas like attachment, sex, and intimacy, I received the call home to my body through a chronic illness diagnosis. Instead of accepting the fate of a lifetime of illness, I decided to become educated on how to heal myself. Learning how to bring a felt sense of safety to my body has set me freedom years of suffering with chronic symptoms and has helped me create healthy and secure relationships in my life. As a trauma-trained somatic practitioner, my intention is to support fellow trauma survivors in healing attachment wounds, building resilience in their nervous system, and learning how to trust the innate intelligence of their body.
