Fear in pole dancing can present in many ways. Fear of starting, fear of booty shorts, fear of new tricks and even fear after an injury or fall. Falling or injuring yourself can sometimes be enough to prevent you from wanting to do that trick again. In extreme cases, it can slow your progression completely. So what can you do to overcome this?
This week, Steph is joined by Uncovered’s resident counsellor Mon to uncover FEAR! EVERY pole dancer needs to hear this conversation!
We talk:
Fear- what it is and its causes
How fear can show up in our pole journey
Tips on how you can work towards overcoming your fear
If you have experienced fear in pole, we would LOVE to hear from you! Both Mon and Steph have experienced fear in their pole journeys and in such different ways. They know more pole dancers are having this experience.

Steph and Dan uncover:
◽️ The realities of social media
◽️ The mindset it takes to operate larger social media platforms
◽️ And of course, some juicy Tuesday topics
This is a two-part episode, so if you haven't already, go back and listen to last week. .

Have you noticed that since starting your pole journey, you may have created a “pole identity”? In this identity do you give yourself permission to do things your “muggle” identity wouldn’t normally do? Like rocking a cute pair of stilettos to work instead of flats, taking pictures of your booty (Sunday Bumday anyone?), or just being more confident?
At some stage during your pole journey, you might feel this strong attachment to your pole identity. If you ever have thought about stopping, there is no doubt some of this will creep in for you.
So what is the go?
This week, Steph & Renee welcome back Mon to uncover all things Pole Identities.
We talk…
▫️What makes up an identity
▫️How your identity relates to pole
▫️Bust some common identity myths

What an EPIC journey! Today is our LAST episode with Simone aka THE POLE PHYSIO.
Don’t be sad though, we are already talking about future episodes and can GUARANTEE she will be back ;).
This week Steph and Renee uncover...... Concussions & Listener Questions with Simone aka. The Pole Physio!
When Simone agreed to come to chat with us about all things pole injuries, there was some major fangirling going on! As expected, there was SOME MAJOR geeking out and this quickly became our longest podcast episode EVER! Given there is SO MUCH good stuff in here, the episode has been split into 3 parts!
Part 1- A Physio's Perspective
Part 2- Pole Injuries
Part 3- Concussions & listener questions
If you are a pole dancer, which of course you are, YOU NEED TO LISTEN to this series. So you might be wondering, who is the Pole Physio: Simone Muscat is the owner & founder of The Pole Physio Australia, aerialist, and APA Titled Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. After feeling frustrated & fed up with the number of injuries and the lack of easily accessible evidence-based information for the pole community, Simone created the The Pole Physio to address this knowledge gap. The Pole Physio is an online service that provides free access information for pole dancers and aerialists all over the world to evidence-based physiotherapy, strength, and conditioning, anatomy, and conditioning blogs. The team of Physiotherapists at The Pole Physio aims to improve pole-specific training knowledge and reducing the number of aerial-related injuries worldwide. You can find The Pole Physio on Instagram, read her blogs here and even book an appointment from anywhere (expect the USA), in the world.
