The Path to Recovery through Process, Possession, and Progress. True recovery begins with a process—learning to heal, rebuild, and take small steps of faith. It continues with possession, taking ownership of your choices, your mindset, and the freedom God offers. Finally, recovery leads to progress, where real growth and lasting change begin to show in daily life. Whether it’s emotional, spiritual, or personal restoration, The Path to Recovery reminds us that wholeness doesn’t happen overnight—but with commitment, responsibility, and God’s grace, the journey brings hope and transformation.

IF IT HAD NOT BEEN THE LORD Psalm 124:2-3, 6-7 “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us… Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.” There are certain phrases in Scripture that immediately draw us into reflection. “If it had not been the Lord…” is one of those phrases. It calls us to pause, look back over our lives, and consider the many moments when danger, despair, or destruction could have swallowed us whole, yet it didn’t. Why? Because the Lord was on our side. The phrase actually means “by our side”. The truth is that we are on God’s side when we accept His Grace through Jesus. WHO IS THIS MAN “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!” —Matthew 8:26–27 The disciples thought they knew Jesus. They had walked with Him, heard Him teach, and seen Him perform miracles. But on that particular stormy night, when waves threatened to overwhelm their boat and fear gripped them, they discovered something far greater. With a word, He spoke to the raging sea, and the wind and waves bowed in obedience. Overwhelmed, they could only ask, “What manner of man is this?” It is a question that still stirs in all of us today. Who is this Man? The Formula for Failure Scripture: 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” God has a plan for our lives—a good and perfect plan, filled with purpose, peace, and victory through Christ. But we are not without opposition. The enemy of our souls, the devil, has a strategy too—a formula designed to derail us from walking in God’s best. Music Composed By: Mike Outland

For Such a Time as This There are moments in life when God calls us out of our comfort and into courage. In the book of Esther, we find one of the clearest pictures of this truth. Esther, a young Jewish woman who became queen, stood in a moment of history where silence would have been easier, but obedience was necessary. Mordecai, her cousin and spiritual mentor, warned her plainly: “Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:13–14 Music By: Mike Outland
WHERE WOULD I BE There are moments in life when I stop and ask myself, “Where would I be without the Lord?” The truth is I don’t know where I would be. I do know that Without His mercy, I would be broken instead of whole, restless instead of at peace. Without His grace, I would be crushed beneath the weight of my own failures, wandering like the prodigal son in a foreign land. But because of His love, He has released my fears, given me direction, and replaced the empty spaces with joy. The words of Psalm 40:2 always come alive to me: “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” That’s what God does—He lifts us when we cannot lift ourselves, He restores us when we think all is lost. Self Denial From The Inside Out Key Scripture: “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” — Matthew 16:24, KJV The Challenge of Self-Denial Of all the lessons Jesus teaches His disciples, perhaps the most difficult is the command to deny ourselves. It seems to go against every instinct of our human nature. From childhood, we are taught to seek comfort, security, and self-fulfillment. The world around us feeds the idea that the highest goal of life is to “find yourself” or “chase your dreams.” Yet, Christ calls us to something far deeper: to lose ourselves for His sake, so that we might truly find life in Him. Music By: Mike Outland
Self Confidence From The Inside Out Philippians 1:6 – “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered if you were enough? Strong enough, Smart enough, Capable enough. We all have moments where we feel like we’re not measuring up. The weight of insecurity and struggle tries to whisper, “You can’t do this. You’re too weak. You’ll never change.” But let me tell you something beautiful and liberating: that voice is a lie. It doesn’t come from God. Music Composed By: Mike Outland
THIS IS THE LIFE PODCAST Self-Control From the Inside Out 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” There’s a quiet strength that comes from a person who walks in self-control. You’ve seen it before—maybe in someone who responds calmly in a tense moment, or someone who chooses gentleness when they could have exploded in anger. It’s not flashy or loud. It doesn’t demand attention. But it carries the weight of something steady and grounded, something whole. That kind of self-control—the kind that holds its peace in the storm—doesn’t come from sheer willpower. It comes from the inside out. And its source is the Holy Spirit. Music Composed By: Mike Outland
THIS IS THE LIFE PODCAST We live in a world that’s quick to measure worth by the wrong things—how we look, what we own, how many followers we have, or how loud our voice is. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our value comes from outside approval or external achievements. But God sees things differently. He reminds us in 1 Timothy 4:12 that our true worth begins on the inside, where our hearts meet His purpose. Music Composed By: Mike Outland

THIS IS THE LIFE PODCAST Mat 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. Mat 14:29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. Jesus said one word: Come. And Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water. This wasn’t a calm sea. The wind was still roaring, the waves were still high. But Peter wasn’t focused on the storm—he was focused on the Savior. Music Compiled By: Mike Outland
