About our guest In this episode, I speak to the incredible Shulamit Ber Levtov, also known as The Entrepreneur's Therapist. Shula comes from a social work background and always had side hustles. As a therapist, she really understands the entrepreneurial journey. One of the things that stood out most for me was this phrase: "People who become entrepreneurs are already predisposed to mental challenges." We talk about isolation for entrepreneurs and Shula's prediction of "The Mental Health Pandemic" following multiple lockdowns because of the worldwide pandemic. A fantastic conversation was had around this and I'm excited for you to hear it too. Can you hear the relief in my voice? Can you sense a shift in energy since my previous two episodes?  I can't believe I let myself get ill before I took action. Never again. If you had to choose between your wellbeing and work, what would you choose? After some soul searching, I made a life-changing decision and everything feels so much better. "When you let go of something that isn't good for you, you make room for something that it." In this episode, I tell you how this is manifesting in my life and what I plan to do next. I have a loose plan, admittedly, but it is all falling into place and I want to share it with you. Have you ever felt like your head might explode because it is so full of stress?  That was me and it made me ill and I really had to question myself: What am I allowing? How is it making me feel? What am I going to do about it? I was having tension headaches and suffering physically with pain across my face, and was forced to take a mental health day to recuperate. Join me in this episode while I talk through: my internal battle of loving a job I need to leave what it might feel like to take a leap of faith the fears holding me back If you've been in a stressful space with work recently, and wondering if now is the time to explore your creativity, this is the episode for you. Have you noticed you're in a cycle that doesn't feel healthy? A toxic relationship, recurring triggers, mental health problems, what is it for you? "I have the power to change my reality." - Does this feel true for you? In this episode, I reflect on my mental health journey and how I've noticed a pattern of experiencing depression around the anniversary of my mum's death. But 2020 felt different, and I share with you why I think that is. I talk about doing the work to find out who you are and to help you unravel who you aren't. Also referenced in this episode, my memoir She Who Writes. Follow me on IG: www.instagram.com/annika_spalding
Have you ever taken a social media break? Social media has felt so icky for a while and I was glad to take a break from it throughout December. I do this every year and I always come back feeling super refreshed and focused, but not this time. The energy online felt weird and funky, likely a reflection of everything happening in the world. But it felt too much and so I took an extended break, and it was the best thing I did. In this episode, I share more about that, about the people who joined me on my December Detox and how this has changed how I use social media now.  Let me know your thoughts on this, email me at info@annikaspalding.co.uk, or find me on Instagram at @annika_spalding. I would love to hear from you!
Friendships have changed these last 12 months and why wouldn't they? We've all felt the weight of the pandemic, the stresses and restrictions breathing down our necks at every turn... But in all this, I'm feeling really grateful for the interactions and connections that I've had throughout. In this episode, I talk about how my friendships were before 2020 and what it feels like now. At a time where we all need support, it's been important to have compassion for others too and move forward with the view that it really is the little things that count. Let me know your thoughts on this, email me at info@annikaspalding.co.uk, or find me on Instagram at @annika_spalding. I would love to hear from you!
Sometimes we ask the Universe for guidance and growth, and feel overwhelmed with the changes it throws our way. We ask for abundance and don't expect to lose people, places and projects. The Universe is working to create more room in your life, so that you can receive people, places and projects that are in alignment with who you are, and who you are becoming. You can't grow without change so if you asked for this (and I'm sure you did), prepare to see the unexpected ways your life transforms around you. This is not easy work, change often feels scary, but don't give up. If you feel yourself at the beginning of a new chapter, this episode is for you. Want to continue the conversation? This podcast is a passion project! After years of defining my craft and building my brand, I'm going back to basics. Remember when we wrote poems, song lyrics and short stories just for fun? Remember when we posted on IG without worrying about whether you used the right hashtags? There is so much to consider now and while it doesn't stop me from creating epic content, I'm still left with so much more to say. I intend to have fun with this podcast and for it to find its way to you organically. Learn more about me at www.annikaspalding.co.uk
