Week one of the high school football season is in the books. Helias wins on a field goal on the final play of the game against Hannibal and Crusaders Coach Chris Hentges starts off our program. A tough loss at Carl Junction for Capital City. We are joined by Capital City Coach Joe Collier on the show. Jefferson City and Blair Oaks pick up wins on the road and we talk about those games with Jefferson City Coach Eric Thomas and Blair Oaks Coach Ted LePage. It's the second day of the MSHSAA Track and Field championships at Adkins Stadium for Classes 1, 2 and 3. Blair Oaks coaches Nathan and Laura Holtmeyer start off our show. The Helias Lady Crusaders pick up a district semi-final win over Capital City in soccer. We talk about the game with Helias coach Jon DeSha. It was a great year for the Jefferson City Jays baseball team. We reflect on the season with coach Kyle Lasley. This afternoon, the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons play in the district semi-finals in soccer. Coach Joren Trimble joins us on the KWOS Coaches Show.
Helias will host districts in track and field today. Coach Phil Pitts kicks off our program. It's district time as well for the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons soccer team. Blair Oaks will host districts this week and we talk about that district with Lady Falcons coach Joren Trimble. In the second half-hour, local historian, author and hall of fame broadcaster Bob Priddy joins us to talk about the Indianapolis 500 race next weekend. On Friday, the Capital City Cavaliers and Lady Cavaliers participated in one of the premier track events in Missouri, the Licklider Relays at Adkins Stadium. Capital City track and field coach Scott Gschwender starts off our show. The Blair Oaks Falcons are headed back to a baseball tournament in Columbia today. We head to Columbia and talk with Falcons coach Mike DeMilia. In the second half-hour, we meet Chris Michaels, the new head basketball coach for the Jefferson City Lady Jays. It's day three of the Masters golf tournament and we head down to Augusta, Georgia to start our show. Joining us is John Boyette, Executive Editor of the Aiken Standard newspaper, who is covering his 38th Masters. Also on the show is Helias golf coach Jay Higgins who talks about the 2025 edition of the Helias boys golf team. The Helias Crusaders are headed to a district title basketball game on Monday against Rolla. The Crusaders picked up a big win over Jefferson City on Friday and Head Coach Joe Rothweiler starts off our program. District semi-final games today at Jefferson City High School for the Jefferson City Lady Jays (against Union) and the Helias Crusaders (against Camdenton). Lady Jays Coach Kay Foster and Lady Crusaders Coach Garrett Wiggans join us on the show. We also reflect on the 2024-25 basketball season with Capital City Cavaliers Coach Ryan Fick.
