Week one of the high school football season is in the books. Helias wins on a field goal on the final play of the game against Hannibal and Crusaders Coach Chris Hentges starts off our program. A tough loss at Carl Junction for Capital City. We are joined by Capital City Coach Joe Collier on the show. Jefferson City and Blair Oaks pick up wins on the road and we talk about those games with Jefferson City Coach Eric Thomas and Blair Oaks Coach Ted LePage. Jefferson City, Helias, Blair Oaks and Capital City participated in football jamboree's Friday night. We talk about that and get you set for the first week of the regular season this Friday on the KWOS Coaches Show. The high school softball season is right around the corner and we check in with Helias Lady Crusaders Coach Kelly Fick, Jefferson City Lady Jays Coach Whitni Howell and Blair Oaks Lady Falcons Coach Taylor Doerhoff. We are talking football, volleyball and soccer on the KWOS Coaches Show this week. Joining us is Helias Football Coach Chris Hentges, Jefferson City Football Coach Eric Thomas, Capital City Soccer Coach Joel Henley and Blair Oaks Volleyball Coach Danielle Lueckenhoff as the first day of practice for fall sports is Monday.

Coaches Show 7-12-25 on KWOS

It's the second day of the MSHSAA Track and Field championships at Adkins Stadium for Classes 1, 2 and 3. Blair Oaks coaches Nathan and Laura Holtmeyer start off our show. The Helias Lady Crusaders pick up a district semi-final win over Capital City in soccer. We talk about the game with Helias coach Jon DeSha. It was a great year for the Jefferson City Jays baseball team. We reflect on the season with coach Kyle Lasley. This afternoon, the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons play in the district semi-finals in soccer. Coach Joren Trimble joins us on the KWOS Coaches Show.

Helias will host districts in track and field today. Coach Phil Pitts kicks off our program. It's district time as well for the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons soccer team. Blair Oaks will host districts this week and we talk about that district with Lady Falcons coach Joren Trimble. In the second half-hour, local historian, author and hall of fame broadcaster Bob Priddy joins us to talk about the Indianapolis 500 race next weekend. The Blair Oaks track and field teams are headed to Centralia today for districts. Coaches Nathan and Laura Holtmeyer start off our show. The Jefferson City track and field teams wrapped up the regular season Friday hosting the Last Chance Meet. Coach Jim Wiseman tells us how they did. In the second half-hour, Southern Boone baseball coach Brian Ash joins us before the final day of the Southern Boone Classic. Fresh from a fifth straight Central Missouri Activities Conference title in golf, Helias boys coach Jay Higgins joins us as his team prepares for districts at Carl Junction on Monday. The Helias Crusaders baseball team is on a six game winning streak. Coach Kelly Fick starts off our show. The Jefferson City Jays boys tennis team has two doubles teams in the district finals today. Coach Henry Thompson is up next on the KWOS Coaches Show. In the second half-hour, we are talking soccer with Blair Oaks Lady Falcons coach Joren Trimble and Capital City Lady Cavaliers coach Kelsey Hile.

The Central Missouri Activities Conference track and field meet is today in Columbia. Helias Crusaders track coach Phil Pitts starts off our show. It's the second day of soccer at the Helias Showcase where the Lady Crusaders will meet Ozark. We talk about Helias' season so far with coach Jon DeSha. In the second half-hour, we head to Webb City where the Jefferson City Lady Jays soccer team is competing in the Southwest Missouri Shootout. Coach Scott Blake talks about an opening day win over Webb City. Then we head to Lawrence, Kansas to talk with coach Kyle Lasley as the Jefferson City Jays baseball team gets ready for the second day of action in the River City Festival. On Friday, the Capital City Cavaliers and Lady Cavaliers participated in one of the premier track events in Missouri, the Licklider Relays at Adkins Stadium. Capital City track and field coach Scott Gschwender starts off our show. The Blair Oaks Falcons are headed back to a baseball tournament in Columbia today. We head to Columbia and talk with Falcons coach Mike DeMilia. In the second half-hour, we meet Chris Michaels, the new head basketball coach for the Jefferson City Lady Jays. It has been a very good season so far for the Helias Crusaders boys tennis team. We sit down with head coach Molly Maassen on the KWOS Coaches Show.

It's day three of the Masters golf tournament and we head down to Augusta, Georgia to start our show. Joining us is John Boyette, Executive Editor of the Aiken Standard newspaper, who is covering his 38th Masters. Also on the show is Helias golf coach Jay Higgins who talks about the 2025 edition of the Helias boys golf team. In the second half-hour, it's the second day of baseball at the Missouri River Festival. Joining us is Jefferson City baseball coach Kyle Lasley and Capital City coach Brett Skinner.

We're talking high school basketball and the NCAA Mens Basketball Final Four from San Antonio with Capital City Coach Ryan Fick, Warrensburg Coach Chris Nimmo, Jefferson City Coach Ethan Williams and KWOS basketball broadcaster David Fox on this week's edition of the KWOS Coaches Show.

The Helias Crusaders are headed to a district title basketball game on Monday against Rolla. The Crusaders picked up a big win over Jefferson City on Friday and Head Coach Joe Rothweiler starts off our program. District semi-final games today at Jefferson City High School for the Jefferson City Lady Jays (against Union) and the Helias Crusaders (against Camdenton). Lady Jays Coach Kay Foster and Lady Crusaders Coach Garrett Wiggans join us on the show. We also reflect on the 2024-25 basketball season with Capital City Cavaliers Coach Ryan Fick. It's the second day of the MSHSAA state wrestling championships in Columbia. Helias Coach Kyle Markway and Jefferson City Coach Darrell Luebbert start off our show with first day results and second day matchups involving their wrestlers. District basketball starts next week.
