"Moses: Keeper of the Faith" | Keepers of the Faith Part 8 Captivation Question: What is the Red Sea in your life, and how can you trust that God will part it? Moses was the chosen one. He knew that, and acted upon it...so he murdered an Egyptian, causing him to leave Egypt. But after escaping to Midian, God speaks to him through a burning bush and tells him to go back. But Moses has doubts. He was no longer a hot headed 40-year-old (instead, he was a doubtful 80-year-old). But God encourages him, and off he goes. Then he and the Israelites eventually are freed, and they encounter the Red Sea. "How will God save us from this?" the Israelites wondered. But God comes through for them, as He always did. Moses's life is filled with miracle after miracle. His faith endured through Egypt, across the Red Sea, and into the wilderness. How far will your faith take you? Do we have faith that will endure all circumstances? Send us a message: https://anchor.fm/salt-of-life-podcast/message
"Israel - Keeper of the Faith" | Keepers of the Faith Part 7 Captivation Question: Is there anything I could do that would cause Jesus to leave me, or even to stop loving me? Jacob lied to his father in order to steal his birthright. His brother wanted to kill him for his manipulation. So he ran away from home. But God shows him a vision of a ladder leading to heaven, giving Jacob hope that his mistakes do not have to define him, and that Jesus can lead him where he needs to be. So he ends up with his uncle, who lies and manipulates him for 14+ years. "God, was this part of your plan? You brought me here for a reason, right?" That reason, and more, is discussed in this episode's message. May we have the faith of Jacob, who goes on to say to God, after a tumultuous and hard life, "I will not let You go unless You bless me." "Isaac: Keeper of the Faith" | Keepers of the Faith Part 6 Captivation Question: Can God use a mistake to make a blessing? Isaac was born from a promise. But he needed a wife, so God guided those around him to the right person: Rebekah. Isaac struggled with Abimelech, the same way his father Abraham did. Why didn't he allow God to guide his actions in that situation? Isaac was tricked into giving his youngest son the birthright. Yet God was guiding him here as well. Time after time, when things looked bleak, when mistakes were made, God provided for Isaac. Isaac remained faithful that God could use his mistakes for a blessing. How does this reflect to us today? How can we have faith that God can use evil for good? Send us a message: https://anchor.fm/salt-of-life-podcast/message
"Abraham: Keeper of the Faith" | Keepers of the Faith Part 5 Captivation Question: Will you go when God calls you? Abram began a journey with God, leaving his home and going to a faraway land. But when he got there, there was a famine, and instead of trusting God, he went to Egypt. But God was with Abram, even when he took things into his own hands, changing Abram's name to Abraham–a father of many nations. After fulfilling His promise to Abraham, God challenges Abraham, calling him to sacrifice his only son Isaac. Instead of saying no, Abraham doesn't argue, and he takes his son to a mountain to sacrifice him. What kind of faith did Abraham have to willingly go through with this? How can we have the same kind of faith that he had throughout his life? Send us a message: https://anchor.fm/salt-of-life-podcast/message
"Sarah: Keeper of the Faith" | Keepers of the Faith Part 4 Captivation Question: Do we trust God to fulfill His promises, and are we willing to wait even if it takes a long time? Sarah laughed at the prospect of having a child. After all, she was at the ripe young age of 89. But a year later, God fulfilled His promise to her and Abraham, and she gave birth to Isaac. Though she doubted, God still fulfilled. Though there are many reasons to doubt in our world today, God still comes through for His people. God has never made a promise He won't or hasn't already fulfilled. Sometimes, all we need is a little bit of patience. But how can we remain patient while waiting for God to fulfill His promises to us? Send us a message: https://anchor.fm/salt-of-life-podcast/message
"Noah: At the Dawn of History" | Keepers of the Faith Part 3 Captivation Question: In what ways is our current world like the world that Noah lived in, and where can we find hope? Noah and his family were the only faithful people left on the whole planet. Evil abounded everywhere, and the consequence to this was a world wide flood. But there was a chance to be saved: get on Noah's ark. As we approach the end of time, the world is becoming increasingly similar to the times before the flood. How can we remain strong  during our difficult and long journey to Mount Ararat? Send us a message: https://anchor.fm/salt-of-life-podcast/message
"Enoch: At the Dawn of History" | Keepers of the Faith Part 2 Captivation Question: What does it mean to have an active faith? Enoch was a man of God surrounded by an increasingly sinful world. His own family even got wrapped up in sin. And yet, even with all of the temptations that were all around him, he remained faithful, and God took him to heaven early. How was he able to be so faithful? Even though the world looked bleak and was on the brink of near destruction, Enoch never failed to serve his Heavenly Father. When the Holy Spirit fills us, we will have the same faith that Enoch did: faith to remain true and firm, though we are surrounded by sin. "Cain and Abel: At the Dawn of History" | Keepers of the Faith Part 1 Captivation Question: What are some ways that we've been like Cain, and how can we strive to be more like Abel? Abel is called to sacrifice, even though his brother Cain thinks it's pointless to do it God's way and does things his own way. Is Cain wrong for doing it different? He's still sacrificing, isn't he? Or is there more to what God is asking Cain and Abel to do? Although Abel might not have fully understood what God was asking him to do, he still had faith even during the sacrifice. With God in our hearts and minds, we can do the same: trust that God has a plan even through the improbable. Send us a message: https://anchor.fm/salt-of-life-podcast/message
