Angela Yazbek is a Hatha Vinyasa yoga teacher in the beaches neighborhood of Toronto (hint hint, she teaches at Afterglow Studio). The is a Written and previous field producer/director in Broadcast media.
She is a Mama, a lover of wellness, a seeker of spiritual, and a storyteller. Her other great passion is writing, and we get to hear her announcement today-we are the first ones to get the scoop!
She has 5 strong boys at home (4 kids and hubby) who love and support her. Yoga helps hold them altogether.

Angela shares how moving from journalism to mothering felt. How yoga changed her life. And how she learned to slow down.
She began her recovering from a lifelong Eating Disorder at 50 years old, and what she learned from the voice in her head.
In this episode we talk with our dear friend Michelle Melles about the making of her documentary "Drunk on Too Much Life" that came from her own daughters mental health struggles. She speaks about the fear, the ignorance, and the quest for answers.
We discuss the dysfunction of our health care system, the archaic ways we treat mental health, and new insight into what Michelle and her family learned along the way.

In this episode we talk to Marilyn (Bola) Awoyami about how she juggles life with kids and being a therapist. Bola Awoyomi is a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist. She is a former stay-at-home mom who currently provides virtual and in-person psychotherapy to individuals struggling with mental health issues. She lives in the beaches with her husband and two kids.
Bola is a member at our studio Afterglow in the beaches, and she comes in with her bright and grounded energy. We talk about how the pandemic impacted all of us. What we can do to feel better, and how to reach out to a therapist.
We talk perfectionism and recovering perfectionism, ditching the lists and checking in with yourself instead.
It's amazing to hear and witness someone living their Afterglow and Bola tells us how she is doing it.

Jane Brean is a former financial executive and current social justice activist. She is living with brain cancer, and has raised close to half a million dollars to support cancer research through her arts focused campaign Gratitude 10. She lives in the beaches with her husband and two daughters.
She is a close friend of ours and has inspired us for the last 6 years with her ability to reframe her diagnosis. She is open and kind and has the most generous spirit.
