The first workout of the 2023 CrossFit Games - the open is in the books. Kate and I discuss the workout, performances and the great things about Open workouts.  Listen in and like + subscribe. 
We have a beacon of light for an ageing population. In our possession lies the strongest tool for longevity, independence and the ability to function each and every day. If you know of someone that could use this 60+ age group class. Send them our way. We would love to have a chat. 
This is an interesting question. Should i do the OPEN. For us the answer is a resounding HELL YES! But some of you may be on the fence. Let us talk you over! 
You deserve to be happy. If something isn't going the way you want it to you need to ask and negotiate it with yourself and others. You are the master of your own happiness. 
Do you even know who you are? What brings you happiness? What are your values? Identify what is important to you so you can allocate your energy in the right place.
You don't have to be great to start, you have to start to be great!

Are you at your best?  Do you have the ability to do tasks in your life without worry of your physical capabilities?  Do you understand the freedom that comes with that? 
You know that good health can be simpler than you think?  It's just not easy.  Of course there can be complications and things outside of our control but following some basics guidelines of good health will help give yourself the best chance. 
Little by little, little becomes a-lot.  Consistency breeds incredible change.
Do you know what works best for you?  It is the same thing that works for everybody else? Probably not.  You need to find what works for you! 
Have you ever heard the Acronym K.I.S.S.? Keep it simple stupid. Basically it means, keep it simple, avoid doing too many things that will complicate your ability to do so.
It is tempting to move past the fundamentals to more advanced skills because they seem cool or entertaining. Strive for virtuosity "do the common, uncommonly well". Once you have mastered the basics, advancing your skills will be a breeze. 
What is the KEY to long term results?  It is choosing things that will be good for you and that you can consistently do. From training plans to nutrition to mindset. CONSISTENCY IS KEY! 
Do you remember what CrossFit actually is?  Did you like the programming this year or did you disagree or not like it at all. Too much gymnastics, too many new movement?  Listen in to see what we thought and hear Alex and Kate with their analysis
Do you? Eat mindfully and calmly? Choose foods wisely and thoughtfully? Move your body everyday? Rest and recover? Get fresh air and natural light? Balance meaningful work and joyful play? Excellence and results come from mastering the fundamentals. Our Question to your is, What are the most basic things you do in your life everyday? 
What you eat is important. What is also important is why you eat, How you eat, Where you eat, With whom you eat and who you are or how you feel when you eat or don’t eat. The question is, what other ways is food affecting your life? 
We don't want to have big muscles but small lives. We don't want to look good on the outside but feel awful on the inside.  We want to help people feel and function well in all aspects of their lives.  Physical, Mental, Emotional, Existential, relational-social and environmental. 
Are you improving? Are you not improving?  How do you actually know you are getting anywhere.  Choose your outcomes, make a plan and test it out.  Gather data, evaluate and process based on how things are actually working in reality.  If you aren't getting the desired result, something needs to change. 
You are in charge of your life.  You decide how you react to what life throws at you. You choose your actions. Your actions choose your results. Control what is in your control. You are the master of your own destiny. YOU ARE THE BOSS!
