Hey Rowan, just listened to this. As you know I have 2 x 1hour swim sessions in my programme. I mix the hour up with 1km x freestyle, 1km x pullbouy, 500m x kicking on back with finns. For my freestyle laps I swim up the pool as fast as I can and then do a slow recovery lap back and repeat. This combined with my strength and conditioning SS programme has seen my hiking endurance and stamina really improve. I've taken 5mins off my time for swimming 2.5km and recover much faster. Ifind swimming is not only a great addition to my programme but it's also a great way to recover from a big hike and increase mobility and flexibility.
