Hi everyone! Welcome back to Thoughts on the Rocks, a safe space for you to feel reassured of your anxieties, to let go of negative feelings and enter a deep relaxing vulnerable state with me :) In this episode I uncover a series of topics mainly focused on the artistic process, I talk about the different feelings of pressure, anxiety and worry that we have as artists and how to combat them, how to approach them differently while offering my own personal stories. I would like to also shoutout my dear partner Sam on here, I’m trying to share as much of his work as I can. He is a film photographer that captures beautiful spontaneous moments, capturing stories in every picture of his that bring a sense of warmth, comfort, intimacy, while also allowing space for curiosity and food for thought. He will be having a photography exhibition in Greenville, SC from the 5th of October til the 1st of November. His socials are: Instagram- @samuelxbogardus Website/portfolio- www.samuelbogardus.comThank you so much for tuning in and for your support🤍 you are worthy and you are important! Book recommendation mentioned in this episode: Rick Rubin - The creative act: a way of being
Do you listen to music? What kind of music do you listen to? Music has influenced me in many ways, it’s helped to heal wounds, get me through life, create beautiful vibes with others… it has so much power and gives me so much freedom to express myself artistically, emotionally, physically, etc. So today I delve deeper into how music affects and influences our moods and how we have the power to control how we feel with music, how we have the freedom to make our days special with sounds, vibrations, lyrics… Thank you all for tuning in, your feedback is also much appreciated and encouraged here 🤍
Today’s episode is a longer one since it’s a topic that really resonates with how I feel and think on a daily basis, I wanted to reflect and focus on different definitions of the word “healthy”. Healthy can mean something so different to you and to me, but at the end of the discussions and debates we came to the conclusion that the word “healthy” is not defined by how you look, but how you genuinely feel internally. In this episode I also discuss a story and personal routine of a close friend of mine that practices mindful/conscious eating which I thought was quite interesting and a new way of consuming food on a daily basis. Let me know what you think of this type of topic and if you want to hear more of this type of discussion. Thank you all for tuning in and taking the time out of your day to fully pay attention to my thoughts and ideas, it means the world to me. I am eternally grateful for all of you lovely souls. 🤍 stay mindful :)
In this episode we will be covering the importance of words, the impact they have on us. How words influence the way we act and believe in ourselves, how we even see the world. It starts with our inner dialogue, if we don’t have a positive inner dialogue we won’t move forward like we want to. Just like my inspiration Hindz said “We’re all hardwired a little bit different, but we all have the ability to rewire the mind”. It’s possible to rewire our minds to a more positive one, a mind that truly believes you can go far in life but it starts with you. It starts with those comments you make to yourself that no one else hears… how do words impact us? Come join me in this journey of discovery where I talk about just that. 🤍 much love to all of you
In this episode I uncover the importance of gratitude, and practicing it in your daily routine. It can be expressed in many different ways, and sometimes we have a hard time finding the positives and tapping into a grateful mindset when we go through traumatic experiences in life… today I share with you the hardest life experience I had to go through and how I struggled to find good things and lessons from it. It took me years and years to finally start seeing a few good things outcomes from this situation. There are days that are easier than others, today was one of the days I felt like sharing my story. DISCLAIMER 🟠 there are mentions of sexual assault, toxic relationships, physical and verbal abuse in this episode. They are not described in depth however mentioning these topics could be easy triggers for some people so I advise you to not listen if you don’t think you can handle it. Once again thank you for following me and my journey, and for welcoming me to be vulnerable here. I appreciate you and I am grateful for you ;)
Why is solitude so frowned upon? Why are we so afraid of being alone and how can we overcome this fear? Solitude can genuinely do is more good than harm in many different ways, improve our relationships with others and ourselves, become more self aware, our needs, etc. Growth doesn’t happen overnight and it’s not an easy practice to enjoy being on our own, in this episode I share my story with solitude and some ways to help with this fear of being alone. Just like Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) said “company’s okay solitude is bliss” we can all learn in our own time and ways to enjoy our own company. This takes practice and I believe you can all achieve this 🤍 Thank you for all your love and support! Stay tuned for another episode on this topic but this time a collaboration and longer and raw conversation! Have a lovely rest of your week. 🧘♀️
In this episode we will tap into our deepest thoughts, doing a bit of self reflection and envisioning the best version of ourselves for the upcoming week. Here we will be practicing a bit of gratitude, remembering acts of kindness we expressed to others and ourselves. How would you like to improve your state of being this next week? In this episode we go through all of this and more while shining light on our emotional and physical strength. ****** A special thanks to my dear friend Matt Wilson who kindly gifted me with a new microphone to use for Thoughts on the rocks, always grateful for supportive people like him in my life🤍
Hi everyone! How are you? How is this week treating you? I hope it’s treating you well! Throughout my life I’ve had some difficulties with expressing myself the way I wanted to to certain people, it’s been quite the journey finally feeling comfortable for the most part. It’s not an easy road I can assure that, but when you’re willing to work on yourself and find the core of the issue then you can move forward and things will turn out right in the end for you. Today I delve into the topic of expressing yourself, being vulnerable with others and where this fear of expressing emotions comes from. There are many different cases, reasons and stories so today I discuss just that, along with some good advice on how to overcome this fear and ease the anxiety of being vulnerable. I hope you benefited from this episode in some way, your support means so much to me so thank you once again 🤍✨ enjoy and let me know what you thought!
Hi lovely people, I hope this week has treated you well. A new week is ahead us and so I’d like to invite you to join me in this end of week guided meditation where we remind ourselves of our body’s purpose and it’s strength. Listen to you body in this time of need, it is important to never neglect what we are feeling externally and more importantly internally 🤍 I am here to help you feel more grounded, relaxed and calm before a new week begins. Once again thank you for joining me on this journey, your support is valued and appreciated. I’d like to personally thank my dearest friend Leonor Aguilar who edited the new introduction sound, I hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think of this new addition. ✨
Hi lovely people! I hope this week has been treating you well so far. I’m trying to figure out and plan a consistent and stable publishing routine for this podcast but since my routine isn’t 100% stable at the moment it’s making that more difficult but bare with me! This episode is a longer one, as it’s about a topic that resonated deeply with me, being independent from an early age can be quite pressuring and stressful but also beneficial in different ways. I talk all about that here and delve into a bit deeper. A special shoutout to my dearest friend Leonor, who will be working with me on sound editing. She is a cinema student studying sound production, here is her instagram @_leonor.aguilar_ Go show her some support and love! 🤍🙏 Thank you all for your support and feedback, a new instagram account has also been made for the podcast @lailapaige_podcast so check it out if you’d like! 🤍
Hi everyone! It’s been a long week and I was off for the past week as it was a chaotic one for me emotionally, I needed time to just be and to reflect. Always learning during the process though. In this episode I talk about how to express boundaries healthily, what to expect and what reminders are important to have during this. It’s not an easy thing to do but hopefully this facilitated it for you! Let me know what you thought of this episode and if you’d like to hear more like this :) once again I have to express my gratitude towards all of you, for your feedback, support and encouragement 🤍
In this episode I finally discuss the beginning of my spiritual journey, my connection to Mother Nature and the force of the universe. How everything is connected and nothing is a coincidence. I wanted to share a bit about that but I wanted to also save some interesting information for another episode possibly a collaboration with friends that share the same beliefs as me. I hope you enjoy this episode and let me know what you thought! 🤍Once again I need to express my gratitude by thanking you for the feedback and for taking time out of your day to listen to my podcast, it means the world to me.
Hi lovely people, I hope you’re having a beautiful week so far! Today’s episode isn’t a guided meditation but I’ll be discussing a few different things, boundaries in friendships, analyzing insecurities, comparison, supportive friendships. And I only realized afterwards that I was saying non supportive instead of unsupportive the whole time oops! But it’s part of learning :) thank you for listening in once again, you are appreciated and unique!
Hi beautiful souls! Welcome to todays weekly guided meditation, where we focus on the beginning of the new week, motivation to do better this week, to embrace the best version of yourself and tapping into your deep intuition. So if you’ve been needing a push to do better, to trust your instincts and receive some words of encouragement then this is for you! I am still trying to figure out names for each meditation, so far we’ve got “remind and rewind” for the weekend meditations, “mindful Mondays” for Mondays motivational meditations, and I have a few different options for Wednesdays mid week episodes such as “Wednesday wellness” “balance break” and “serenity session” but Wednesday wellness is number one for me. Let me know what you think of these different titles and I’d gladly appreciate some feedback as well! Have a beautiful week filled with peace and purpose🤍🧘♀️
Welcome back beautiful people, it’s been a while since I last uploaded an episode here but I came back with more ideas, stories, and perspectives that I would like to share with you. There will also be some new additions to this podcast that were mentioned in this episode. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy 🤍
How can we learn to see the beauty in our flaws? Messing up is the most human thing we can do yet we are shamed for making mistakes.
In this episode I share some personal experiences with learning how to accept my own mistakes and how they helped me master skills.
Where does this fear of making mistakes come from? Tune in and find out :)
I'd like to show some appreciation for all of you and your support on the podcast and first episode. I can't wait to see this podcast blossom into something even better over time <3
How can relationships become unintentionally codependent?
Love is such a strong force and the way we connect with people is truly so beautiful, and once you find someone who you connect with on many levels you will find it difficult to not spend time with them. How can this become toxic? How can spending time alone benefit you and your relationship in the long-run? In this episode I discuss just that, if there's anything I left out let me know and I will be sure to talk about it in the next episode or one in the near future! :)
Welcome to Thoughts on the rocks, the name isn't random, I believe nothing in life is random but we will discuss that in future episodes regarding spirituality.
The name was an idea my friend and I came up with, she mentioned something about the name of the podcast having the word "cocktail" in it or something related to a mix of thoughts and bartending. I had two other ideas for the name of the podcast which were "Cocktail of thoughts" and "Mindful mixology" both sounded good but the name I ended up picking had a good ring to it and thought it was a nice play on words.
This podcast is meant to be a safe space where I'll share some stories and my perspective on different topics and hopefully someone
out there can connect with them :)
