First day of Lockdown 2.0 here in the UK. In the weeks before the first lockdown, I met the lovely Heather Steel and Chloe Stevens through Adam Hayley's OTE mentorship. Without these ladies, my time in the first lockdown would not have been the same!! In this episode, we talk about how we feel regarding the second lockdown along with the first lockdown and what we're going to do potentially different in this second. We also discuss challenges and strategies we have to keep not only ourselves motivated but our clients throughout this potentially difficult time. In this episode, I'm joined with a friend and colleague Tanvir Rayet also known as Coach Tan. Both Tan and I PT at the same gym in Ilford. The majority of our clients tend to be from a South Asian background and we discuss on the podcast what we feel they struggle with when it comes to health and fitness. Is it their diet? Lack of physical activity? Or both? After doing some extensive research, I've found studies that state people from the South Asian ethnic group were less likely than average to be physically active – this has remained consistent for the last 4 years! So Tan and I discuss what the possible reasons could be. We also discuss our approach to Personal training, what could be holding people back from achieving their goals. If you like this episode of the podcast, please subscribe!Let me know if you give it a listen! Give both Tan and I a follow on Instagram and Facebook at: Coach Tan - @tanvirrayetfitnessMiriam Rehman - @miriamsimperium

In this episode, I'm joined by my lovely client and friend Charmaine. Charmaine reached out to me and asked me to help her lose weight during the COVID Lockdown here in the UK. In 16 weeks, she's lost an impressive 11kg!! Charmaine and I talk about a range of topics regarding our insecurities whilst being overweight, our thoughts and feelings about whether we will ever be happy with our bodies - even when we reach a certain goal etc. We talk through her struggles, why she decided to do something about her weight gain, her previous history with Personal Training, her obsessions with having control of her diet and how Online Coaching has brought about a better relationship with food and being able to enjoy cooking again! Please subscribe and leave a review if you enjoyed this episode!
This week, I've been asked several questions from clients, both online and on the gym floor, it surprised me that some of the fat loss myths I fell for almost 10 years ago are still going around to this day. So, here's my two cents' worth. If you want to discuss anything regarding what I've spoken about in this episode of the podcast. Please don't hesitate to send me a message on Instagram or Facebook. Instagram: @miriamsimperiumFacebook: @miriamsimperium
In this short and sweet FIRST episode of #dailydip diaries, I introduce myself, who am I, what do I do and why do it. I talk briefly about the start of my fitness journey and how I got into it and how I transformed myself from being overweight to a much happier, stronger, fitter person and how my life's mission is to help other women do the same without having to resort to faddy diets. Please mind my ramblings throughout this first episode - I was pretty nervous.
