017 - The Oriental Hotel Murder Case (Singapore) - 15/195
Description
On 6th June 1994, two men decided to get ready for an interview at one of the most famous hotels in the city of Singapore. What was supposed to be a normal walk-in interview turned into a horrific crime as the two men decided to rob guests in their hotel room, which quickly turned into a murder crime scene.
What ensued was a lengthy search for the culprits. Despite the presence of multiple pieces of evidence, including sketches and media coverage through newspaper articles, the case remained stagnant for a gruelling 18-month period, with no significant progress made in identifying the perpetrators.
A significant breakthrough occurred when the police noticed an unrelated car robbery. However, these were not your typical robbers. One of them had left a disturbing and distinctive mark—a bloody handprint—as their signature inside the hotel room where they committed the terrible crime of taking a guest's life.
Listen to the episode of The Oriental Hotel Murder as we dive deeper into the evidence and understand the events that turned a simple robbery into one of the most talked about murder cases in the country of Singapore.
