Took a trip to Brooklands for the VSCC Driving Tests event, the day consists of pre-war cars tackling a dozen different tests around complicated courses laid out around the historic Brooklands site including Test Hill and Members Banking, with drivers competing against the clock while trying to avoid any penalty-attracting mistakes.

The Vintage Sports-Car Club (VSCC), founded in 1934 in the UK, is dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of pre-1931 vintage cars. Known for events like hill climbs, trials, and races, it played a key role in reviving interest in historic motoring after WWII. Today, the VSCC organizes over 30 annual events, celebrating the craftsmanship and spirit of classic cars while fostering a vibrant community of enthusiasts.

Test Hill was built in 1909 as another facility to encourage use of the track for development and test work. It is 352 feet long and divided into three sections, starting with a gradient of 1 in 8, then 1 in 5 and the top third has a gradient of 1 in 4. It was used by manufacturers to test both the ability of cars to climb steep hills and also of their brakes to stop them coming down.
