38. Frances Buerkens & Kyle Gautreau (Investing for your Passion)
Description
Kyle Gautreau is a former Propulsion Design Engineer at Space X under the famous entrepreneur/inventor Elon Musk. Frances Buerkens is a scientist & graduate from Berea College in KY, she has experienced a 9 month solo road trip around the country, she currently sells high-end laboratory equipment to monitor water quality. Both of them have made a career shift and are now real estate investors and they have built on their partnership and relationship through this endeavor. They are an amazing example of how balancing out hard work with their passions (rock climbing & hiking) leads to far greater success than trying to log “hours”.
Their motivation to become financially independent through real estate is not just to free up time for fun passions, but also to work on problems that they feel are very important such as environmental sustainability, responsible agriculture, and financial literacy.
In this episode you’ll learn about:
- What financial independence can do for your life and what true “retirement” is
- Why it is so important to balance work and play
- What a real estate syndication is and the cycle of learning, operating, and investing
- How to handle “negative” influences as you learn, fail, and eventually find success
“TV and the news highlights how different we all are, but travel highlights how we are all the same” - Frances Buerkens (the most quotable person I have ever met!)
